The Foundation has awarded scholarships to deserving students entering post-secondary education since 1988. SEF is awarding five John Cary scholarships totaling $25,000. The 2024 recipients are:
- Shayneisha Allen - Parkway Central High School, attending Missouri State University
- Elle Bryant - Ladue Horton Watkins High School, attending Maryville University
- Anna Jones - Brentwood High School attending, Southeast Missouri State University
- Mia Magaña - Oakville Senior High School, attending Missouri State University
- Trenton Watkins - Parkway North High School, attending St. Louis Community College
- Noah House - Ritenour High School, attending St. Louis Community College
