Provide tax-advantaged giving directly from your IRA!
Are you 70½ or older and required to take Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) from your IRA? Consider a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) to benefit the Special Education Foundation.
What is a QCD?
A QCD allows you to transfer funds from your IRA directly to a qualified charity, such as the Special Education Foundation. The best part? The distribution is excluded from your taxable income.
How Does it Work?
- Age Requirement: You must be 70½ or older.
- Account Type: The distribution must come from an IRA
- Direct Transfer: The funds must be transferred directly from your IRA to the Foundation.
- Annual Limit: There's a $105,000 annual limit per individual ($210,000 for married couples).
- No Goods or Services: You cannot receive any goods or services in exchange for your donation.
Benefits of a QCD:
- Tax Savings: Avoids income tax on the distribution.
- RMD Satisfaction: Counts towards your annual RMD.
- Charitable Impact: Supports a worthy cause.
