The Special Education Foundation recognizes the importance of bridging learning gaps during school breaks. Through the Kid-to-Camp program, SEF provides financial support to families of children in the Special School District, enabling them to attend camps not only in the summer, but also during spring and winter breaks.
“My daughter loved going to the camp! The moment she got there each day she was so excited and we had zero issues with leaving her there. I think it helped her prepare for school and her social skills continued during the school break. She is an only child, so the isolation without the camp would have been detrimental for her. Instead, she made so many new friends from all over - it was awesome!” ~Erica L, Mother
While the additional expense can be a financial burden for many families, SEF picks up in areas not supported by tax dollars or United Way. Campership funds are awarded based on financial need and student benefit. Applications are accepted year-round and we are accepting applications for winter break. Apply now!
