Nominations are now open for the 2nd Annual Starfish Awards! This special recognition is a chance to celebrate those remarkable individuals within the Special School District who make a profound difference in the lives of students with disabilities. These awards are named for the powerful message of the Starfish Parable, which reminds us that each effort to support students with disabilities creates a ripple effect of positive change.
Our first-ever Starfish Awards last year honored a wonderful variety of heroes—highlighting that this award is not only for teachers but for anyone in the district who makes a meaningful impact. Last year’s winners included devoted teachers, compassionate paraprofessionals, and even an inspiring transportation team member, all of whom go above and beyond to enrich students’ lives.
