SEF Helps Welcome SSD Educators Back to School

Over the past few weeks, the Special Education Foundation has been actively visiting schools across St. Louis County to warmly welcome back the educators and staff of the Special School District (SSD). During these visits, SEF has shared valuable information about our programs and services designed to support the students served by SSD. These efforts aim to strengthen our partnership with educators, ensuring they are aware of the resources available to help students with disabilities achieve success throughout the school year.

SEF is dedicated to empowering students with disabilities in St. Louis County by providing resources beyond what tax dollars support. Established in 1984 as Missouri's first public school foundation, SEF offers a range of programs and services designed to help students served by the Special School District (SSD) succeed. These include:

Through these initiatives, SEF enhances educational opportunities and helps students achieve greater independence and success. SSD provides special education services to children and youth with disabilities, ages 3 to 21, throughout St. Louis County.

Monetary support of these programs would not be possible without our Annual Dan McLaughlin Golf Tournament & Charity Auction, Foundation grants, corporate contributions, but mostly individual donations. If you’d like to help support our mission, consider making a donation or by participating in our Vertical Discounts fundraiser. If you are an SSD employee, you can take advantage of payroll deduction now through September 16.

As we celebrate our 40th anniversary of supporting SSD students, we look forward to another year of partnership with SSD and the impact we will make. Together, let’s continue making a difference to students served by SSD, in all areas across St. Louis County!
