SEF’s Fred Saigh Leadership Academy has made a remarkable impact on Henry Becker of Lindbergh High School. Becker is the recipient of Lindbergh’s Most Inspirational Senior Award! This award goes to a student who has been most inspiring to the teachers and students at Lindbergh High School (LHS).
Henry has been described in the following way:
“Henry’s dedicated commitment to pursuing opportunities and for being open to new challenges; for learning how to navigate school into two settings (LHS and South Technical High School in a challenging Web Design/Programming training program); for developing his creative interests independently in writing; for growth in leadership through the prestigious and highly selective SSD program—Fred Saigh Leadership Academy; for raising awareness of he rights of people with disabilities; for his understanding of his strengths and needs; for balancing school and employment; for the everyday kindness and respect he communicates to others at school and in the community. The most inspirational Senior is Henry Becker.”
Henry’s mother Karen shared this awesome achievement with SEF. “I believe the opportunities Henry has experienced in the Fred Saigh Leadership Academy have played a part in his accomplishments this year,” states Karen. “We are thankful he has had this experience and we are grateful to the Fred Saigh Leadership Academy for all that they do for young people with disabilities!”
The Academy is wrapping up the year with their last session on April 24th with a visit to the Missouri Botanical Garden and Graduation ceremony on May 1st in the Emerson Auditorium at St. Lukes Hospital.
