The Special Education Foundation plays a key role in supporting teachers and students in the special education community. By providing grants and resources to implement innovative classroom projects, we help empower educators, enhance learning outcomes, and create a more inclusive and equitable educational landscape for those served by the Special School District.

Last Friday, SEF attended the Northview High School’s production of Myth’s Busted! Forty-Seven students make up the Northview Players, as cast and crew. The students learned about Greek Myths and transformed their knowledge into a fantastic script and act on stage.

Title 1 Reading Specialist Trish Billeau Co-Directed the performance. “The students have worked so hard to bring this performance to life,” states Billeau. “ Their dedication, creativity, and passion for the arts have truly made a positive impact on our school community. The increase on their reading, speaking, listening, and social skills is amazing to witness. I appreciate the support from SEF, staff, and families that contribute to making theater a priority in the lives of our students. Together we have created a unforgettable memories and countless stories to life.”

(The performance will be supported through our Arts in the Classroom program in the years ahead.)
