Arbeiter Gift of Sound with purple polka dots

Dianne Arbeiter was a 25-year Special School District employee who headed the deaf and hard of hearing program. She lost her battle with cancer in 2001.

Her dedication to students with hearing disabilities inspired her co-workers and family to organize an annual fundraiser to honor Dianne’s commitment and to help the students she served.

When the pandemic hit four years ago, the fundraiser went virtual with friends and supporters of the Special Education Foundation contributing to help bring the Gift of Sound to deaf and hard-of-hearing students in St. Louis County.

We’re continuing in that spirit this year recognizing that the need for financial assistance has grown and continues to grow at an alarming rate.

The number of requests for hearing aids and audiological support is increasing substantially, and that’s why we’re turning to you for assistance.

Since new hearing aids and audiological equipment are rarely covered by insurance or tax dollars, we need your help more than ever before.

On behalf of all the students and parents we serve, know that your generosity and support are greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for helping SEF provide the “gift of sound” to children in need.

Please make your donation today to give the gift of sound to a child.
