As we’ve headed into 2024, we are thrilled to share with you a significant milestone that reflects our commitment to transparency and accountability – the successful completion of our 2023 Annual Report and Audit.

At the Special Education Foundation (SEF), we understand the importance of providing accurate and reliable information to our constituents. This report and audit validates the accuracy and completeness of our financial statements, offering assurance to our community in sharing the impact of our work.

SEF is proud to have earned a Gold Seal of Transparency from Candid.org, a nonprofit that provides the most comprehensive data and insights about the social and nonprofit sector. SEF’s Candid profile includes several years of Audited Financial Statements and IRS 900s.

The Annual Report highlights our programs, events and financials for 2023.  Among the highlights was that SEF positively impacted over 6,000 students who receive special education services in St. Louis County through our various programs, which you will read about in the report.

The continued success of our Foundation hinges on the remarkable generosity of individuals, businesses, and foundations within the St. Louis region. Notably, events such as the Dan McLaughlin Charity Golf Tournament & Auction have played a pivotal role in propelling SEF toward an exceptional fundraising year.

Over the past twelve months, our mission has been further bolstered by a noteworthy doubling of unrestricted donations. Your support has truly been the cornerstone of our achievements, and we extend our sincere gratitude to all those who have contributed to our cause.
