Litzsinger School is this year’s winner of the SSD Schools Raffle Sales Competition for the 2023 Dan McLaughlin Charity Golf Tournament and Auction.

Each year, the five SSD schools compete to sell the most Missouri Lottery scratch-off tickets and win the prestigious RED Apple Trophy and a staff luncheon.

This is the third consecutive year that Litzsinger has won the competition, dating back to 2019. The raffle competition didn’t take place due to COVID-19 in 2020 and 2021.

The teachers and staff at Litzsinger sold 285 raffle tickets totaling nearly $1,000 that goes to support the Special Education Foundation. Northview High School came in a close second, selling 276 tickets for $676.

We celebrated the victory with the Litzsinger staff last Friday with lunch courtesy of Billy G’s in Kirkwood and the presentation of the RED Apple Trophy (In case you were wondering, RED stands for Remarkable Effort of Distinction).

The trophy was presented to Tammy Topp, a teacher at Litzsinger, who spearheaded the raffle sales at the school.

Congratulations to Principal Kathy Russ and the entire staff at Litzsinger, and THANK YOU for your hard work in supporting SEF and the kids!

This year’s Missouri Lottery scratch-off ticket raffle raised more than $3,500 for SEF. Paul Tripi, from Beck Flavors, one of the tournament’s sponsors, scratched off $126 from the 100 tickets he won as the raffle winner.

Thanks to Jill Salinas, Patty Benner, and Shannon Benedek for representing SEF and preparing the food for the luncheon.
