On Monday, October 9th, at Norwood Hills Country Club, the Special Education Foundation celebrated its 21st Annual Dan McLaughlin Charity Golf Tournament and Auction. With just under 300 golfers in attendance and our Happy Hour guests joining us in the evening, our efforts would not have been possible without the help of our sponsors, volunteers, and vendors!
Pool Tron joined us again this year as our Platinum Sponsor, supporting SEF for over 10 years. We were also joined by a few new sponsors– UMB Bank, Roeslein & Associates, and Tr,i Architects. Tournament details could not have been possible without our sponsors' support. From the golf balls to the Happy Hour Buffet, their endorsements provided an unforgettable experience to all in attendance!
Another important aspect of the tournament comes from our amazing volunteers. Dressed in the theme of Getting in the Spirit, our volunteers could be found throughout the grounds that day. Some were at registration checking in players, getting them signed up for the putting contest and various game-play activities. Others could be found on the course delivering lunches to the golfers and providing snacks on certain holes.
However, when it came time for the Happy Hour and Auction, our volunteers rallied together and were ready to assist all attendees with getting their bids in and having a fantastic time!
To all of our wonderful SEF volunteers, you helped our tournament run smoothly, and we can’t thank you enough!
Many of our volunteers are staff members of the Special School District. SSD’s support through the years is also a big part of why this tournament is a continual success in our efforts at the foundation: helping students with disabilities in St. Louis County.
We also would like to say thank you to our tournament golf committee. From finding vendors on the course to acquiring many unique auction items, our committee shows its support throughout the year in preparation for the tournament, handling many important details that require maximum effort. We look forward to planning next year’s tournament with this dedicated group!
Congratulations to the lucky winners of the raffle contests at the tournament!
Our 10-year bottle of Pappy Van Winkle bourbon went home to Max Huber and 100 Missouri Lotto tickets will be scratched off by winner Paul Tripi!
Please plan on joining us next year as we aim to make it an even more exciting and charitable event!
