About the Kid-to-Camp Program
NEW- Kid-to-Camp Policy Winter break applications are now being accepted.
The Special Education Foundation understands that bridging the instructional gap during breaks in the school year is critical. SEF’s Kid-to-Camp program provides financial assistance to parents of children served by the Special School District so they can attend camp during these breaks in the school year.
Area camp programs help to maintain the momentum and benefits to students beyond the social and educational aspects of the classroom. Attending camp provides opportunities to interact with others, develop friendships, and build relationships that can increase confidence and independence.
For more information, or if you need help with the online application, please contact us at info@sef-stl.org or 314-394-7036.
While the additional expense can be a financial burden for many families, SEF picks up in areas not supported by tax dollars or United Way. Campership funds are awarded based on financial need and student benefit and many are funded through our annual golf tournament. Applications are accepted year-round. Visit our main applications page to learn more about eligibility requirements and to submit an application.

From the Newsroom
Through this program, the SEF provides funding support so that students served by the Special School District of St. Louis County can attend a camp of their choice.
A new school year is upon us, and the Special Education Foundation (SEF) team has been busy visiting schools and back-to-school events, meeting with educators and families across St. Louis County.
Thanks to generous donors, SEF provides financial assistance to families so their children can attend area camps during school breaks. These "camperships" are awarded based on financial need and student benefit, helping bridge the gap where public funding falls short.
