Fall Cohorts Forming Now— Improving Independence & Social Skills

The Special Education Foundation (SEF) is excited to announce that fall cohorts for the Autism Independence Project are now forming! This innovative program, powered by iSocial, is designed to help students with autism build critical social skills, improve independence, and prepare for a successful future.

Through structured group sessions led by trained facilitators, participants will engage in evidence-based activities focused on social communication, problem-solving, and friendship-building. These skills are essential for thriving in school, work, and community life.

“Thank you all to SEF for funding my son to participate in the group. He has really enjoyed it.

He is very proud of his improvement from iSocial and able to identify his improvements.  He says he feels more comfortable at school in the classroom with his peers.

Now he is able to talk with others more and in a relaxed manor, and when we are out, he feels more confident.”

The Autism Independence Project gives students a safe and supportive environment to practice real-life interactions, while also fostering confidence and self-advocacy. The program is offered virtually, making it accessible for families across the region.

Why Join?

  • Develop stronger social competence
  • Increase independence in daily life
  • Prepare for meaningful employment and relationships
  • Connect with peers in a supportive environment

If you know a middle/high school student served by the Special School District of St. Louis County who could benefit from this program, now is the time to sign up! Space is limited, and cohorts are starting now through fall. Learn more about the Autism Independence Project and contact us today.
