The Arbeiter “Gift of Sound” event will be held Friday, June 7, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the historic Kirkwood Train Station to benefit Special Education Foundation and children who are deaf or hard of hearing.
All proceeds from the event will support the Special Education Foundation (SEF) and its mission to give children who are deaf or hard of hearing the gift of sound, thus helping those students served by Special School District (SSD) achieve success in and beyond the classroom.
Dianne Arbeiter was a 25-year SSD employee who headed the deaf and hard of hearing program. She lost her battle with cancer in 2001. Her dedication to students with hearing disabilities inspired her co-workers and family to organize an evening to honor Dianne’s commitment to the students she served. The “Gift of Sound” event promises to be an exciting evening of fabulous entertainment and great food. Rumors Acoustic Combo, featuring Paula Berner, will perform and Billy G’s will provide delicious, heavy hors d’oeuvres. Tickets to attend are $100, and all proceeds benefit SEF.
