Proceeds are put towards programs to benefit students with disabilities served by the Special School District of St. Louis County

For the past 20 years, the Special Education Foundation (SEF) has hosted the annual Dan McLaughlin Charity Golf Tournament and Auction and has raised millions of dollars to fund SEF programs to benefit thousands of students in and beyond the classroom, and providing financial assistance for families in need.

The funds raised through this tournament help provide college scholarships, scholarships for kids to attend camp during academic breaks, brings the arts into the classroom, provide adaptive and assistive equipment such as hearing aids and communication devices to support everyday learning as well as essential items that are critical to students to engage in their education meaningfully.

The 21st Annual Dan McLaughlin Charity Golf Tournament and Auction will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Norwood Hills Country Club. Approximately 300 golfers will play, joining numerous other friends of the Special Education Foundation in the effort to raise more funds to benefit more students.

The event starts with a putting contest, followed by a four-player scramble, culminating with a happy hour buffet and live auction. This year’s live auction is full of unique items up for bid and travel opportunities – something for all and tickets are now available for the happy hour.

Golfers and happy hour attendees have the opportunity to bid on amazing prizes and experiences such as the Folds of Honor Patriot Golf Days for 4 to 8 golfers at the Patriot Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as well as a chauffeur-provided private party suite package for 12 to cheer on the St. Louis Blues at Enterprise Center. The silent auction will include wonderful baskets from local vendors such as the St. Louis Zoo and curated baskets put together by departments in the Special School District.

Major support for the 21st Annual Dan McLaughlin Charity Golf Tournament and Auction comes from sponsorships and personal donations. Pool Tron is the Premier sponsor for this event. Additional supporters of the tournament include Aetna, Ascension, Brinkmann Constructors, HM Risk and Benefits, Prudential, Student Transportation of America, Inc., UMB Bank, and World Wide Technology.
