The Missouri NEA announced that Special Education Foundation is the 2019 recipient of its Horace Mann “Friend of Education” award in the Organizational Achievement – Civic category. These awards, the highest given by Missouri NEA, recognize outstanding contributions to public education. The Foundation won the award in the same category in 2013 as well.
Missouri NEA President Charles E. Smith says, “The competition is always keen because there are many excellent individuals and organizations in this state working for education.”
Special Education Foundation Executive Director David M. Diener will accept the award on Saturday, April 27, at the presentation at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach.
