The 12th annual Dan McLaughlin Golf Tournament to benefit the Special Education Foundation will be held on Monday, October 13, at Norwood Hills Country Club. The event, which begins at 10 a.m. with registration and brunch, benefits children and youth with disabilities. The day culminates with a dinner auction. Cost for the event is $350.00 per golfer or $75.00 for the dinner auction only. The event is co-chaired by Don Davis, owner Purus Vodka; Mike Hopson, CEO Purus Vodka; and Lee Tilghman, vice-president U.S. Bank; and Bob Kijowski, business development, Fox Sports Midwest.
Numerous organizations, corporations and individuals promise to enlist their support and sponsorship for the October 13 event. Each year, the tournament hosts more than 240 golfers and 350 dinner guests. The silent auction, with more than 300 items, is held throughout the day. Dan McLaughlin serves as the dinner auction emcee that generates enthusiasm and competitive bidders. During the dinner auction, former student Erica Runge will ask the audience for donations to support the Foundation’s “Kid to Camp” program.
“Dan’s involvement, the students and the many area athletes and celebrities who attend the tournament make the event a huge success,” says Gene McNary, president of the Special Education Foundation. “This partnership with Dan, Special School District and the St. Louis community enhances and expands our ability to help children with disabilities achieve success.”
